Violinist/Composer/Teacher Kailin Yong was born and raised in the metropolitan equatorial island state of Singapore. Dubbed Manhattan of the east, Singapore is a melting pot of many different world cultures and Yong grew up experiencing living in a global village where everybody despite their varied background coexist in perfect harmony and tolerance.

The Kailin Yong Peace Project was formed last fall in conjunction with the release of my solo CD, "Bowing With The Flow" to promote peace, friendship and cross-cultural understanding in the world.

The original music featured in the Peace Project is a chronicle of my musical exploration of many different cultures in the world, impressed by the power of music to reach across boundaries and bring people together. As a musical ambassador, and as a human being, I see how reaching out to audiences with this music mirrors my own spiritual growth towards a path of unity and purpose.

Peace Project: The Peace Project Quartet in a smaller, more intimate version of the much acclaimed Kai Lin Yong Peace Project, formed in the autumn of 2008 to promote peace, friendship and cross-cultural understanding in the world through music.

The project features Kai Lin's original music based on his exploration of the diverse cultures of the world and combines the talents of great like-minded musicians to demonstrate the concept and possibility of a global village, where we all come from different places and backgrounds, but through openness, acceptance, understanding and love, are able to co-exist in harmony.
