Charisma is happy to announce the addition of Vinyl Soup to our agency!
Vinyl Soup is the premiere psychedelic rock band from Nashville, TN. Their sound falls somewhere between 70’s British, progressive rock, folk rock, and the American jam band sound of the 90’s to the present day. Their ethos includes an eclectic blend of influences ranging from rock, blues, folk, and jazz, to Caribbean and world sounds. Unlike many of the musically disposable jam bands on the current scene, there is a strong emphasis on deeply empathetic and memorable compositions, with an occasional knowing wink to the listener, lest things get too serious. As Lexington, KY Newspaper North of Center points out in an article regarding a Vinyl Soup performance in October 2010: this is a songwriter’s Jam band. Fans of Vinyl Soup’s concert performances also cite the band's fearless extended improvisations and free-wheeling musicianship as unique strengths of their live shows.

We are excited to announce the addition of Michael ONeill to our roster!
Quietly working on material for nearly a decade, ONeill found himself happily remarried and content. In 1999, he released “Dream On” to critical acclaim, garnering nation-wide airplay. His current work, “From the Beginning” is an uncommon album that documents an artist in his prime, a man who knows himself, strengths and weaknesses alike. Part country crooner, part haggard storyteller, ONeill makes a noise that is refreshingly classic. Drawing on heroes like Roy Orbison and Bob Dylan for inspiration, “From the Beginning” plays like old-time rock and roll, deceptively simple yet focused on craft and execution.

Hilary Scott is an award-winning singer-songwriter who brings her unique brand of melodic and lyrically memorable indie/pop songs to audiences nationally and internationally. Listen to her now and you can say, 'I've been in from the beginning.'

Charisma is happy to announce the addition of Mountain Animation to our agency!
Lightning-quick sledgehammer banjo stylings and flame-throwing violin mayhem form the backdrop of Mountain Animation. The Brooklyn-based power duo is composed of Zack Orion (vocals, banjo, foot drums) and Scott Murphy (violin, electrified violin, fiddle, back up vocals). In February of 2013 they recorded the album “Lava Letter,” which is a mix of their classical and mountain music backgrounds filtered through the rock and roll format. Zack Orion’s multi-instrumental talents, strong poetic lyrics, and emotional and haunting vocals paired with Scott Murphy’s deeply-felt high energy violin riffs make up their original and inspired sound.

Charisma is excited to welcome Alex Vans & the Hide Away to our roster!
DC-based troubadour Alex Vans creates a unique, shape-shifting blend of rock, folk and pop. His recent self-titled EP is lived in, warm and yet minimalistic, shaped by the hands of a master song-craftsman and high-burnished by the lungs of one of the Capital's most promising young vocalists.
Alex's broad-but-never-bombastic voice is the first thing that strikes the ear, calling to mind Jeff Tweedy, or maybe even the kind of vocalist Conor Oberst might grow up into (if Oberst cared to grow up). Just beneath the spare, plaintive vocals lies Alex's sunny Hendrix and SRV-inspired guitar riffs, creating a bittersweet pastiche that evokes Beck's "Sea Change" period. Not gratuitously, he seamlessly adds in some phrasing nods to the Beatles and The Arcade Fire that serve to add to the tension between traditional and modern sounds.
